When Scott builds a bot, a bippity-bot, sparks fly . . . and his entire classroom goes wild. Before long, fiery ants and carnivorous plants, a freaky frog, a big-bellied boa, and an exploding “volcano” have wreaked total havoc. Can Scott’s bot, which started it all, manage the mess? Cheers for the handy hero! A cumulative story with fun that grows and grows and GROWS.I’m excited to report that THE BOT THAT SCOTT BUILT will be featured in a Barnes & Noble National Storytime event sometime in the fall. Sorry, don’t know the date yet. I’ll keep you posted!

Available through your favorite brick & mortar store (smaller, independent bookstores need to order it) or online sellers.

EXCITING NEWS! The Bot that Scott Built will be featured on August 20th at Barnes and Nobles nationwide for their National Storytime! Check your local store’s listing. That’s a Saturday, and most events seem to be starting at 11am. Storytime PLUS activities!

CollinRobot wBookOn the book’s jacket, I promised a peek at the world’s coolest robot costume, worn by my son circa… oh… maybe 1993. Here it is, based on the “Load Lifter” worn by Sigourney Weaver in Aliens. We used up about two rolls of duct tape on this costume. It had pincher “hands” that really worked (say for carrying a treat bag) and a light on top. I wish we had video. I mounted dryer vents on the back that undulated like robotic snakes when he walked. Truly awesome to behold. The bars on his shoulders that held up the costume were fashioned from pool noodles. I guess we could call this “The Bot that Mom Built!”
